Original 2 syntypes lost; neotype selected by Gon 1997:164 [ref. 23065]. •Valid as Apogon hungi Fourmanoir & Do-Thi 1965 -- (Gon 1997:164 [ref. 23065] with author as Nhu-Nhung, Fraser 2000:252 [ref. 24412]). •Valid as Jaydia hungi (Fourmanoir & Do-Thi 1965) -- (Mabuchi et al. 2014:202 [ref. 33426], Fraser & Prokofiev 2016:239 [ref. 34742], Fricke et al. 2018:169 [ref. 35805], Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:167 [ref. 36965], Fraser et al. 2022:214 [ref. 39752]). Current status: Valid as Jaydia hungi (Fourmanoir & Do-Thi 1965). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: Tanzania east to Seychelles, Comoros and northwestern Madagascar. Habitat: marine.
