Lectotype selected by Springer & Gomon 1975:57 [ref. 6083]. •Synonym of Omobranchus punctatus (Valenciennes 1836) and Omobranchus fasciolatoceps (Richardson 1846) -- (Springer 1972:13 [ref. 4178]). •Synonym of Omobranchus punctatus (Valenciennes 1836) after lectotype selection -- (Springer & Gomon 1975:53 [ref. 6083], Smith-Vaniz 1976:148 [ref. 4144], Kottelat 2013:384 [ref. 32989], Sharafiniya et al. 2021:64 [ref. 38544]). •Valid as Omobranchus dispar (Günther 1861) -- (Cabezas et al. 2022:6 [ref. 39340]). Current status: Valid as Omobranchus dispar (Günther 1861). Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Fujian coast, China and Taiwan. Habitat: brackish, marine.
