Current status: Valid as Astyanax jordani (Hubbs & Innes 1936). Acestrorhamphidae: Acestrorhamphinae. Distribution: Southern North America: subterranean systems in San Luis Potosà and Tamaulipas (Mexico) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
