Holotype: BMNH 1977.1.10.16. Paratypes: BMNH 1977.1.10:17 (1), .18-26 (9), .27-33 (7), .34-38 (5). •Valid as Haplochromis teegelaari Greenwood & Barel 1978 -- (van Oijen et al. 1991:178 [ref. 20956]). •Valid as Labrochromis teegelaari (Greenwood & Barel 1978) -- (Greenwood 1980:42 [ref. 1899], Mahulu & Seehausen 2025:128 [ref. 42168]). Current status: Valid as Labrochromis teegelaari (Greenwood & Barel 1978). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Victoria; extinct. Habitat: freshwater.
