RESOURCES FOR PARENTS & EDUCATORS Curriculum Bibliography - UPDATED! an annotated bibliography of curriculum materials available in the Academy's Library. Most of these resources are in the Member Lending Collection. ABC Scavenger Hunt - PDF documents that can be used for Academy visits by school groups of any grade level. In the Academy's exhibits, find objects or animals that start with each letter of the alphabet. A cover sheet, the A-Z form, and a clue sheet are available. Children's Book Bibliographies - the children's books in the Academy Library are available for loan to Academy members. Bibliographies are compiled by subject, such as insects, sharks and dinosaurs! Resources for Teachers from the Academy Library - What kind of things can the Academy Library do for teachers? Would you like to set up an orientation for you or your class, see bibliographies, or examine the video collection? Resources for Kids - Each video has been
annotated and assigned a grade level so that teacher's know exactly what
they're getting. The
Manzanita Project
- an imaging initiative preserving and enhancing access to images in the
Librarys Special Collections. These images provide visual documentation
of Californias natural history, Academy expeditions, and the history
of science in the West dating back to the Academys inception in
1853. Teacher Services at CAS - Workshops, Self-guided tours, and Study guides from the Academy's Education Department. Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed to access some of these items. Eisenhower National Clearinghouse (ENC) - is an online collection of math and science resources available to educators through the Internet. The collection contains a wide range of useful curriculum resources covering a variety of subject matter within the domain of mathematics and the natural sciences. Some of the resources include: teacher and student guides, sourcebooks, reference materials, activity guides, program descriptions, and many other valuable curriculum materials. The Biodiversity Resource Center is one of twelve ENC demonstration sites where users can access ENC services using the center's computers and can obtain ENC publications.
