Salt Marsh Nursery

Can you find 4 different mud loving creatures? If gooey slime is not your style, there are 4 animals above the mud. One bandit is hidden, so look carefully in the grass. Do you see the bat? Here's a hint: this bat doesn't fly through the air.

An early October sunset lingers at Limantour Estero, a part of the Point Reyes National Seashore. Shorebirds and wading birds probe for food on the mud flat, exposed by the retreating tide. Most are temporary visitors, stopping for food and rest during their fall migration along the Pacific Flyway. Visit the California Academy of Sciences and take a guided tour of Wild California Hall to learn even more about the Salt Marsh Nursery.
