Current status: Synonym of Acanthobrama microlepis (De Filippi 1863). Leuciscidae: Leuciscinae. Distribution: Eurasia: Kura-Aras River basin, Caspian Sea basin (Georgia, Iran and Turkey) [if valid]. Habitat: freshwater.
