Kottelat 2012:73 [ref. 32367] selected trifasciodorsalata over trifasciodorsala. Types at RIA 1 [= NCNTTSI] are lost according to Endruweit 2014:144 [ref. 33205]. •Listed as Vanmanenia trifasciodorsalata Nguyen 2006 -- (Li et al. 2014:96 [ref. 33322]). •Questionably a synonym of Vanmanenia serrilineata Kottelat 2000 -- (Kottelat 2012:73 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:197 [ref. 32989], Kottelat 2017:93 [ref. 35488]). •Valid as Vanmanenia trifasciodorsalata Nguyen 2006 -- (Dang et al. 2024:185 [ref. 41354] as trifasciodorsala). Current status: Valid as Vanmanenia trifasciodorsalata Nguyen 2006. Gastromyzontidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Red River drainage, northern Vietnam. Habitat: freshwater.
