Holotype: ASIZB 240329. Paratypes: ASIZB, IHB, SHOU. Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Microphysogobio punctatus Sun, Tang & Zhao 2024. Current status: Valid as Microphysogobio punctatus Sun, Tang & Zhao 2024. Gobionidae. Distribution: East Asia: Xijiang River drainage, Pearl River basin, and upper Xiangjiang River drainage, middle Yangtze River basin, southeastern China. Habitat: freshwater.
