Supradiscus varidiscus Thoni & Arrindell 2025 was preoccupied by Placogobio basipunctatus Endruweit 2025 by a few days, the former appeared 23 Sept. 2025, the latter 20 Sept. 2025. Thoni 2026:400 [ref. 43016] erroneously post-dated the publication date of Endruweit 2025 to 30 Dec. 2025, but it could be established as 20 Sept. 2025. The validity of this species needs further revision. •Synonym of Placogobio basipunctatus Endruweit 2025 -- (M. Endruweit, pers. comm. Oct. 2025). •Valid as Placogobio varidiscus (Thoni & Arrindell 2025) -- (Thoni 2026:399 [ref. 43016]). Current status: Valid as Placogobio varidiscus (Thoni & Arrindell 2025). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae.
